Mr. Rajat Banerji, Amway India
Mr. Rajat Banerji is a seasoned corporate affairs and communications professional with over two decades of experience in the direct selling industry and a rich grounding in journalism and CSR. As Vice President – Corporate Affairs at Amway India Enterprises, he has been closely associated with IDSA’s journey, contributing to its thought leadership, policy engagement and stakeholder outreach.
Mr. Rajat Banerji brings a unique blend of industry experience, narrative building, and on‑ground stakeholder engagement to IDSA’s leadership.
He has been with Amway India since April 2000, working across CSR, corporate communications and corporate affairs roles that span media relations, public policy dialogue and social impact initiatives. The first phase of his Amway journey was devoted to building and leading the company’s CSR programmes, after which he headed Corporate Communications and CSR between 2005 and 2010, shaping Amway’s public reputation and community partnerships.
Over the years, Rajat has remained deeply engaged with IDSA’s work—participating in its internal deliberations, meetings with central and state governments, international delegations, media interactions and CSR outreach tied to the growth and recognition of ethical direct selling in India. His insights draw on both corporate strategy and ground realities, enabling him to bridge conversations between industry, policymakers and the wider public.
Earlier in his career, Rajat spent eight years as a journalist in Delhi, including assignments with The Statesman and Down To Earth, following an initial stint in tea and coffee plantations with Tata Tea Ltd. and Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation in Munnar, Tirunelveli and Coorg. This combination of field experience, newsroom rigour and corporate leadership informs his human‑centred approach to policy, communication and advocacy. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi.

Endurance—whether on a long trail run or in public life—is about preparation, focus and staying the course, while always being ready to support those who may be falling behind. The same mindset guides how I look at industry building: plan with contingencies, prioritise what truly matters, remain present in the moment and never stop before the finish line..
